Cardi B isn’t worried about any of the hate that comes her way, because as she put it, she’s chosen and protected in her position by a higher power.
Talking to fans on Instagram Live from the studio on Wednesday night (October 9), the Bronx superstar noted that she’s been getting a lot of “weird” energy lately, but she promises that anyone directing negativity toward her will get it back tenfold.
“You gonna go through shit because you fucked with me,” she asserted. “And you wanna know why? It’s not ‘cause I’m a fucking witch like y’all be making it seem ‘cause I’m Dominican and y’all be thinking I be doing black magic. No, it’s ‘cause I’m fucking anointed. I was picked by Jesus! I’m really one of God’s kids.”
She continued: “You wanna know how I know I’m anointed? You know how many strippers are in America – in the world – how many strippers have a fat ass, how many strippers could rap? And God chose ME to be famous!”
In related news, Cardi B is not happy about being sued for allegedly not paying the rental fee for the mansion used in her “Like What” music video, but she says she has the receipts to prove otherwise.
According to the complaint, which seeks damages of $35,000, Cardi and Offset (who directed the video) put together a plan to use the property “without paying full market value.”
The legal filing claims that the estranged couple, who are currently going through a divorce, operated anonymously to hire the mansion and “under the false pretense” that the rental was to film a TikTok video.
The luxury pad, located in Beverly Hills, was previously rented by Justin Bieber and has also appeared in a Logan Paul music video.
Cardi vehemently rejects the claims, hitting out at the lawsuit on X, writing: “We paid those people $10,000 IN CASH to rent the property for a whole 24 hours that same day 6am to 6am the next morning and we went over by ONE hour which we paid overage fees to the realtor for in March. There was cameras all over and both the realtors and the owners was there the ENTIRE time…
“I got pics and videos of them on set!! Now they wanna finesse us trying to say we told them it was a TikTok video when that was nowhere in the contract and like they didn’t hear the whole song playing and see how long we was shooting….Why would it take us 24 hours to shoot a TikTok? The problem is people wanna find loopholes and get over but IRON YOUR BEST SUIT BITCH I’ll see you in court!!!!”
The Bronx rap star also posted screenshots of text messages between herself and Offset arranging the hire of the property, as well as proof of a $4,500 transaction to the realtor.
