Rapper Yella Beezy, best known for his breakout hit That’s On Me, has been arrested in connection with the 2020 shooting death of fellow rapper Mo3.
The 33-year-old artist born Markies Conway – who has collaborated with top names in hip-hop such as Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Sign, and Lil Baby – was taken into custody Thursday afternoon and booked into the Dallas County Jail after a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to court records, per TMZ.
The arrest follows a grand jury indictment two days earlier, charging Beezy with felony murder.
MO3, whose real name was Melvin Noble, was gunned down in broad daylight on a Dallas highway on November 11, 2020.
According to the indictment, Beezy was charged with ‘capital murder while remuneration,’ alleging that he ‘intentionally and knowingly’ participated in Noble’s killing by hiring Kewon White to carry out the hit in exchange for payment.
White was arrested about a month after MO3’s death and is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence on firearm charges related to the case.

At the time of the shooting, police reported that a suspect, later identified as White, exited a dark sedan armed with a gun and approached MO3, who had gotten out of his car and attempted to flee.
White allegedly chased him down, firing multiple shots. MO3 was struck and later died at a hospital.
A bystander sitting in another vehicle was also hit but survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
In 2021, Beezy was arrested on charges of felony drug possession and unlawful firearm possession.
According to the police report, the rapper was found with over 400 grams of a controlled substance, along with four handguns and a rifle, TMZ reported.
It marked his second arrest in just six months.
In February 2021, Beezy was pulled over in Dallas after allegedly running a stop sign in his armor-plated, bulletproof truck.
A search of his vehicle led to his arrest for unlawful firearm possession.

Yella Beezy first made waves in the rap scene as a teenager, dropping mixtapes before gaining widespread attention with Lite Work, Vol. 2 in 2017.
The tape featured That’s On Me, which became a regional smash and eventually climbed to No. 25 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 56 on the Hot 100.
A high-profile remix followed in 2018, featuring 2 Chainz, T.I., Rich the Kid, Jeezy, Boosie Badazz, and Trapboy Freddie.
Over the years, Beezy has worked with major names in hip-hop, including Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Sign, Young Thug, and Gunna.
His most recent album, Bad Azz Yella Boy, dropped in August 2022.
