Fans and loved ones have been paying tribute to One Direction star Liam, who tragically died on Wednesday evening after falling from the third floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires
Liam Payne admitted he’d wanted to be remembered as a “nice guy” over anything else, after the One Direction star tragically died after plummeting from a third floor balcony.
Now, in an unearthed clip from two years ago, Liam is seen chatting with a host in a Q&A, while onlookers listened intently to the singer’s answers.
When the interviewer asks Liam how he’d like to be remembered, he replied: Honestly, just being a nice guy, I’d rather be known for being a nice guy than anything else.”

He went on to say that you have to put “time and effort” into people “because it comes back”, before adding: “So yeah, I’d rather be known for being nice than anything else.”
Fans have begun to comment on the clip in the wake of Liam’s death. One wrote: “And judging from all of the tributes today… this is exactly and hopefully…what he will be remembered for…..being a nice guy.” Another added: “Gosh what a moment to capture in reflection of such a tragic incident,” while a third replied: “Forever young and it’s such a tragedy.”
Celebrities who knew Liam have also paid tribute to their friend. Rita Ora broke down in tears while singing a song she recorded with Liam. Just hours after the news broke, Rita took to the stage in Osaka, Japan where she paid tribute to Liam.
The singer, who was friends with the star, struggled to finish their duet For You. The pair had released the track in 2018 for the film Fifty Shades Freed. While performing the song, a picture of Rita and Liam was displayed behind her as she tried to get through the lyrics of their song.
In a heartbreaking moment, Rita could se seen holding her head in her hands as she turned away from the crowd. She looked up and confessed: “I can’t even sing this right now.”
Liam fell from the third floor of a hotel building in the Argentinian capital. Police, firefighters and ambulances were seen outside of a hotel building after Liam tragically fell. A body was found in an internal patio of the hotel. The police were called to the hotel by the hotel manager. It’s believed that Liam fell from around 13 or 14 metres and suffered “very serious injuries incompatible with life.” While City ambulance service provider spokesman Alberto Crescenti said he had fallen around 40 metres and suffered “severe injuries which were incompatible with life.”
