The day has come: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry US exit likely

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could be keen to move out of the US after Donald Trump’s election victory earlier this month.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be looking to move out of America as the Duchess is said to have been left “very upset” over Donald Trump’s election victory.

The Duke, 40, and Duchess of Sussex, 43, have lived together in the US since stepping down as senior working royals in 2020.

Speaking to GB News, Daily Mail Editor at Large Charlotte Griffiths said: “Meghan will be really upset to live in America with Trump as President.

“She really viscerally disliked him and for many different reasons, and has said that he’s a misogynist live on television before. So she might want to leave America.”

The couple reportedly recently purchased a new home in Portugal, which is where Princess Eugenie and her family typically split their time.

Meghan and Harry are known to be close to Eugenie – who featured in their 2022 Netflix series ‘Harry & Meghan’ – and her husband Jack Brooksbank.

It has also been suggested that by having a home closer to the UK, Meghan and Harry could visit Britain more frequently.

As reported by GB News, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said: “This gives Harry and Meghan a foothold in the EU and a base near Britain.”

It was previously reported that, following the first time Donald Trump was elected as president, Meghan “threatened” to stay in Canada.

Meghan and Harry have had their fair share of run-ins with Trump over the years. Some experts reckon the couple faced a “worrying time” in the wake of the 78-year-old’s victory.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield previously said on her Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered YouTube channel: “Newsweek said the election was likely hard for the Sussexes. It was Jack Royston who wrote the months leading up to the election day must have been a difficult time for the Sussexes spent watching from the sidelines in a race where it is clear who they want to win.”

The couple currently reside in Monetcito, California with their two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.
