Meghan Markle saw a popularity boost during her trip to Colombia
Meghan Markle’s popularity among young people has skyrocketed in just under four months and is now within arms reach from her estranged brother-in-law, Prince William, a new poll has revealed.
The Duchess of Sussex saw her popularity among Gen Zers (18-24 year-olds) in Britain soar by 22 points just as she and Prince Harry toured Colombia last month.
YouGov’s latest poll, conducted between August 14 and August 15 and published on August 30, showed that Meghan was liked by nearly half (48 percent) of young people in Britain and disliked by only three out of ten (30 percent), with a net approval rating of plus 18.
Meanwhile, Prince William scored 48 percent of favourability in this age group, while he was disliked by 28 percent, gathering a net approval rating of plus 20, just two points above Meghan.
Prince Harry was liked by 47 percent of Gen Zers and disliked by 37 percent, which gave him a net approval rating of plus 10.

Princess Kate was the most popular out of the four with a net score of plus 23.
However, despite her popularity with Britain’s youth, the Duchess of Sussex remains overwhelmingly disliked by the rest of the age groups (25-49, 50-64, 65+) thus her overall favourability rating was minus 40.
This marks an improvement to four months ago when it plunged to minus 43.
Back in May, YouGov’s polling revealed that between May 1 and May 2, Meghan was liked by 36 percent of Gen Zers and disliked by 40 percent, which gave her a net approval rating of minus four.

Her latest popularity boost came just as the couple toured Colombia, with their trip making headlines days beforehand.
The most popular member of the Royal Family remains the Princess of Wales, with a net favourability of 61 percent, followed by the Princess Royal with 60 percent and the Prince of Wales with 59 percent.
Prince Andrew is the least popular royal with a net favourability of minus 82.
