Hulk Hogan’s estranged daughter, Brooke Hogan, had clear reasons for writing herself out of her late dad’s will, according to her husband

The daughter of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan wrote herself out of her late dad’s will, according to her husband. The WWE star died last week aged 71.

And despite sharing a heartfelt tribute to her dad in the days that followed his death, Brooke Hogan had been estranged from her dad for a number of years. Her husband has now claimed she removed her name from the sports star’s will in 2023.

Steve Oleksy, a former NHL player, tied the knot with Brooke in 2022. They have since welcomed twins, Oliver and Molly. He claimed his wife had “upheld her Dad’s best interests even after his death”.

However, he also said she had been “mustering up all the courage and kindness she could despite still being very hurt,” as she released the touching tribute.

Speaking to US Weekly, Oleksy said of Hulk’s estate: “That money does not represent accomplishments in the ring — the majority of it came at the expense of my wife’s dignity.

“It was built on hurtful comments about her and her past relationship, which caused pain not only to her, but to many other families.”

He then specifically referenced comments made by Hulk about an ex-partner of Brooke’s. In an audio clip that was leaked from Hulk’s sex tape in 2012, Hulk allegedly used the N-word a number of times as he called himself “racist, to a point”.

In 2013, the wrestling star later filed a lawsuit against website Gawker for posting segments of the sex tape. A number of years later in 2016, he received a $31 million (£23.4million) settlement.

Oleksy went on to say: “While one life was positively changed forever from a financial standpoint, the true victims never received a direct apology — and, despite the life-altering embarrassment, they never received or asked for a single dollar in compensation.”

He then said Brooke was put in a position to defend someone without knowing the full truth and said she was unaware the remarks were linked to a sex tape. He also claimed she was unaware the context and use of the derogatory language was said in reference to her and her ex, and said she was “conveniently misinformed of the transcripts”.

Oleksy went on: “These are the realities we live with every day. No amount of money can erase that pain or restore what was taken.”

Despite Oleksy’s words, Brooke paid a special tribute to her dad following his death. She wrote how her dad’s blood “runs through my veins” and said: “His eyes shine through my children. And our bond has never broken, not even in his final moments. We had a connection deeper than words, one that spanned lifetimes.

“I am so grateful that I knew the real version of him. Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens. We shared a quiet, sacred bond, one that could be seen and felt by anyone who witnessed us together. When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him. I felt it before the news even reached us.”

Moving to clarify their relationship, Brooke also explained how the pair never had a “big fight”. “It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand,” she wrote. “My father was confiding in me about issues weighing on his heart, both personal and business.

“I offered to be a life raft in whatever capacity he needed. I told him he had my support. I begged him to rest, to take care of himself.”
