One of the games that pitted them against each other and ended in victory for Angel and LSU against CC and Iowa was the 2023 NCAA Women’s Tournament final. There, Reese celebrated her team’s lead in the fourth quarter and the impending victory by waving a hand in front of her face, mimicking “You can’t see me.” In addition, while staring at her, she pointed to her ring finger.
This did not go unnoticed by Clark, but even less so by the fans, who took different positions. Some said her gesture was disrespectful to her rival, while others said it was about connecting with the fans and standing out in the competition. O’Neal is in the latter group:
When Angel did (gestures at ring finger), that was excellent marketing. Then you had people, ‘Oh why’d she do that?’ Why not? Do it again.

In addition, Shaq said that although he prefers Reese, Clark is a competitor with a great mindset. Together, they have made WNBA games a real spectacle. And even more so when they face each other.
I”ve seen those two cross paths. They’re not going to fight each other. That’s competition, that’s why they’re great players. You’ve got this person you’re pumping up, you’ve got this person, ‘Oh, they’re bad.’ And then the bad finally beats the good? That’s the *** I like!
After advising Reese not to shy away from the spotlight, we know who will agree if the controversy between the two heats up, or who will continue to cheer her on. And which side he will take.
