The entertainment world was shocked when in July 2013, the pregnancy news of Lauren Silverman with Simon Cowell came out. It exposed the dark side of the glamour world marred with complex issues of disloyalty and infidelity.

According to People, their affair allegedly dates back to as early as 2009 when Lauren Silverman was married to Cowell’s best friend and real estate mogul, Andrew Silverman. The news broke out after Andrew Silverman filed for divorce citing adultery and named The X Factor creator as a co-respondent (via US Weekly).

Nevertheless, Simon Cowell took his time to speak on the matter and finally opened up in 2015 during an interview with the Daily Mail. He confessed that he was not proud of everything that happened. But he also added that the moment when he got to know about it is still etched in his mind.

I’m not proud of the circumstances, I can’t hold my head up about it. This was not something I planned. But I remember going to the first scan with Lauren, I called him Tad because he looked like a tadpole. Something just kicked in. I felt unbelievably protective of both of them. I just absolutely wanted him. I just hadn’t known that before.

According to BBC, the Silvermans eventually avoided the legal drama by settling their divorce out-of-court in 2013. On the other hand, the longtime couple, Cowell and Silverman also got engaged in January 2022, long after Lauren Silverman gave birth to their son Eric in 2014.

Presently, Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman are happily engaged and are often spotted together publicly.

Simon Cowell, who was an integral part of One Direction‘s success has taken to his Instagram account to pen an emotional note for the late singer.

Expressing condolences on the young singer’s untimely demise, Simon Cowell expressed that he is devastated and heartbroken by the incident.

You never really know how you feel about someone until a moment like this happens. Liam, I am truly devastated. Heartbroken. And I feel empty. And I want you to know how much love and respect I have for you. Every tear I have shed is a memory of you.

Simon Cowell also reveals that the duo met each other last year for a candid conversation and reminisced about all the golden moments they had during their One Direction days.

Liam Payne passed away after reportedly falling from a third-floor balcony at his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Other former One Direction members- Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson have also shared their condolences for the late singer on their social media.
