Kate Middleton and Prince William shared an adorable video on Instagram to celebrate George’s special day

Prince George is a proud big brother!

On Tuesday, July 22, Kate Middleton and Prince William, both 43, shared a sweet video montage taken during a photo shoot showing George with his younger siblings Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, to celebrate his 12th birthday.

In the clips, which appear to have been taken during Prince Louis’ 7th birthday shoot done by photographer Josh Shinner, George and Charlotte lift up Louis in one adorable moment, as the trio giggle, hold hands and pose on a gate in other cute shots.

“12 today! 🎉” the caption on the post, which was shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram account, read.

The video came after Princess Kate and Prince William’s account posted a new portrait to celebrate their eldest son’s birthday, continuing their royal tradition that started when George was a baby.

In the photo, also taken by photographer Josh Shinner earlier this year in Norfolk, George could be seen resting his arms on a fence as he smiled at the camera.

The pre-teen looked strikingly similar to his father in the photo, wearing country-style attire including a white and blue checked shirt with a brown fleece gilet over the top, as he did in the recently-released montage video from the shoot.

“Happy 12th Birthday to Prince George! 🎂 📸 @joshshinner,” the initial post was captioned.

The post came after Princess Kate and Prince William released a similar video to mark Prince Louis’ 7th birthday on April 23.

The rare footage appeared to be a behind-the-scenes look at his birthday photo shoot, in which photographer Shinner had captured the young royal smiling (and showing off his missing front teeth!) in a snap released for the occasion.

The video — captioned “Seven today!”, similar to the one shared for George’s birthday — showed Louis posing outdoors and having a bit of fun, including running up to the camera and grinning with his face close to the lens.

At one point, Louis said in the clip: “I can jump down from there,” while pointing before giving the camera a smirk. A few seconds later, he was shown taking a leap from the top of a large log.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram account also posted two adorable images from the same shoot showing the siblings posing in one shot and laughing in another with Prince William to mark Father’s Day on June 15.

“Happy Father’s Day, Papa (before and after!) We love you! G, C & L 💖,” the post was captioned.

As in previous years, Prince George — who is second in line to the throne after his father, Prince William — is celebrating his birthday privately with his family. His most recent public outing was just over a week ago, when he joined his parents and sister at Wimbledon.
