The Princess of Wales has delighted royal fans by releasing a highly personal video showing her enjoying candid family time with Prince William and their children as she reveals she has finished her chemotherapy treatment – here we take a look at moments in the footage you may have missed…
The Princess of Wales has given the most candid glimpse yet into her family life in a highly personal video about her cancer journey.
Kate’s heartfelt message about how she has now finished her chemotherapy treatment is spoken over images showing Kate, Prince William and their children enjoying the outdoors, walking through woods and cuddling as they hold hands.
The montage, by filmmaker Will Warr, captures the princess enjoying the summer sunshine in the Norfolk woods with William and Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Embraces between the princess and her husband appear throughout, with a message from Kate played as a voiceover against a backdrop of gentle music.

Kate says: “The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.” But the video also features a number of unexpected moments, and here are some of those that you might have missed…
Parents in blink and you’ll miss it moment
Although the video predominantly features Kate, William, George, Charlotte and Louis, there are two other family members who make cameo appearances – Kate’s parents.
In a blink-and-you-‘ll-miss-it moment, Carole and Michael can be seen in the clip enjoying a fun card game with their daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Kate’s parents are known to be a constant support to their daughter, rallying around her young family.
Rarely seen pet
Another cherished member of the family who also makes fleeting appearances throughout the video is the Waleses’ family dog, Orla.
The black English Cocker Spaniel has been a constant companion to the family for many years and in the emotional video can be seen walking with them on the beach, sitting obediently as they enjoy a picnic and being tenderly stroked by Kate as she embraces William.

The pet is extremely precious as Kate and William received her as a generous gift from her brother, James Middleton, who is known for his love of dogs. Orla also appeared in birthday pictures when Charlotte turned seven.
Stunning ring
Early on in the three-minute clip, Kate can be seen at the wheel of her car driving through the countryside.
As she rests her left hand on the gear stick to change gear, her rings can be seen, and it appears she is not wearing her sapphire blue engagement ring. The ring previously belonged to Princess Diana and was given to Kate when she and William became engaged in 2010.
Due to its size and how precious it is, Kate is not believed to wear it all of the time. And in the video, she wears another stunning ring instead. It is the same ring, appeared to be set with diamonds and other gemstones, she was spotted wearing in a video when she and William wished Team GB congratulations after the Paris Olympics.
George’s question and Louis’ joke
In one poignant moment of the video, Kate playfully pushes Louis on a swing with her poignant voiceover playing in the background. Showing just how important her children have been during her recovery, the only time that Kate’s powerful words pause in the video is to hear from her children.

The footage switches to selfie mode, where George, Charlotte and Louis are sat on a picnic blanket with their mum in a pretty field. Prince George then rushes up to the camera and asks “is this filming?” while little Louis along with Charlotte then moves in and says “hello!”
William’s dad moment
William and Kate are seen in a number of tender embraces in the video – and the Prince of Wales also proves he’s ever the resourceful dad in one cute moment.

Near the end of the video, he is seen coming to the rescue of daughter Charlotte who ends up with what looks like a caterpillar in her hair. Luckily, as the family are playing a card game, William uses one of the cards to coax the creature out of his daughter’s hair.
Brothers George and Louis look on and when the bug is safely on the card, William jokingly gestures it toward his daughter who lets out a playful yelp.
In a beautiful moment near the end of the film, Kate can be seen walking through a pretty field before catching a butterfly on her hand.

She cradles the creature before it flies off as she poignantly says: “To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
A source said: “Her Royal Highness has drawn strength from her family and loved ones and from spending time on the things which bring her joy. These elements and the sanctuary she has found in the natural world are all represented strongly in the video.”
