Prince William goes wild: What’s going on?

The Prince of Wales appeared to be in high spirits tonight as he cheered on Aston Villa during a UEFA Champions League match against Celtic FC in Birmingham

The Prince of Wales was in high spirits tonight as he rooted for Aston Villa during a UEFA Champions League match against Celtic FC in Birmingham. Prince William was overjoyed as his beloved football club triumphed over Celtic FC with a 4-2 scoreline.

The senior Royal was captured celebrating after Ollie Watkins netted the third goal. Dressed in a dark blue jacket, and what appeared to be a dark jumper and light shirt underneath, the prince remained engrossed as the game progressed.

His favourite team managed to clinch a victory against the Scottish champions. This comes two weeks after the prince made another visit to Birmingham for an engagement before surprising Aston Villa fans at a Wetherspoons pub for a quick chat and a pint.

On January 15, William travelled to Birmingham as he was appointed patron of the College of Paramedics. While there, he enjoyed a pint with fellow Aston Villa supporters when the football enthusiasts gathered before a mid-week match.

The heir to the throne requested his club to organise the meet-up with some die-hard fans in the city centre just hours before Aston Villa faced Everton on the pitch. Earlier today, William visited Guildford to tour NatureMetrics, a finalist in his environmental Earthshot Prize awards project, reports the Express.

The future king was shown around the company’s nearby labs and he donned a white coat and gloves to assist in the initial steps of extracting DNA from a sample.

He was given a tour of the remaining process, which included a DNA extraction machine that generates the DNA code sequence. This enables the team to identify anything from bacteria to a blue whale.

Also this week, William was in his element as enjoyed a very rural royal outing this week.

The future king – who, like Princess Kate, has a known love of the outdoors – headed to Lower Blakemere Farm in Hereford, where he met with Phil and Heather Gorringe along with their son, Monty. And he made quite an impression on the family.

Heather has opened up about William’s down-to-earth visit, which saw him shown a new grain store and some regenerative farming equipment at work, before joining the Gorringes on a walk around the farm – which stands on Duchy of Cornwall land – to check out their composting projects.

Heather told People: “He’s such a nice guy, isn’t he? He seems really down to earth — and miles taller than I ever imagined. And he loved the worms, so that was really great.”

The worms in question were a part of the ‘Wiggly Wigglers wormery’, which was created by Heather for their domestic waste. William appeared fascinated by the construction.

“Wormery? Is that a technical term?” he asked his hostess. “Oh my goodness, look at that,” he further marvelled at the household waste and the dark material it created. “It’s like black gold,” Heather told him.
