Prince Harry’s relationship with King Charles has been strained since the Duke of Sussex made a number of bombshell claims against the Royal Family.

Prince Harry issued his father King Charleswith a plea after a brutal snub that meant he was evicted from Frogmore Cottage in 2023, it has been claimed.

Despite Frogmore Cottage being a wedding present to the Duke and Dutchess by the late Queen, King Charles still made the decision to evict Harry and Meghan Markle from their official residence back in early 2023 after the Duke of Sussex released his bombshell memoir, Spare.

The couple had planned to hold onto their former four-bedroom property in Windsor to use during visits to the UK.

Omid Scobie claimed in his latest book Endgame that the news left Harry so upset that he called his father and told him as a result of not being able to stay at Frogmor Cottage anymore, it would be hard for him to see his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

He said that a few days after he found out the news, the Duke called his father and asked: “Don’t you want to see your grandchildren?” According to Scobie, the King replied with a “half-hearted declaration that they would always have ‘somewhere’ to stay.”

While the decision was ultimately made by King Charles, it was reported that the monarch had been advised by one of his nearest and dearest to make such a move.

Scobie also clamied Princess Anne was the catalyst of the decision.

While the King was reportedly “cautious” about evicting the couple, the Princess Royal is said to have persuaded her brother Charles to evict them. Mr Scobie wrote that Anne was “at the forefront of the supporters of the firm approach” taken by the Palace.

Publicly available filings published by Companies House for “Prince Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex” show the royal wrote June 29, 2023 as the beginning of his residency in the US – the same day Buckingham Palace reportedly confirmed the pair had left Frogmore Cottage.

Since famously quitting the Firm in 2020 and stepping down as senior working members of the Royal Family, the couple have been living in America.

Meghan last visited the UK in September 2022 and made no return in either 2023 or 2024.

Harry and Meghan, as well as their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have not travelled back to the duke’s home country as a family since 2022, when they attended the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
