Liam’s show Building The Band, which he filmed prior to his tragic death, alongside Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger, is set to air on Netflix as a ‘tribute’ to his legacy
Netflix has confirmed it will proceed with the reality TV series that Liam Payne had filmed before his untimely death.
“Building The Band” featured Payne as a judge, sharing the panel with Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger. Sadly, the former One Direction singer’s involvement in the Netflix series was cut short by his unforeseen death.
Fans were left heartbroken after he was discovered lost his life in Argentina following a fall from his third-floor hotel room.
The streaming service has announced that the show will air as a tribute to Payne’s memory. Liam had joined “Building The Band” last October, and despite the sorrow of his absence, the production is set to continue as planned, originally reported by In Touch.
A source disclosed to the magazine that those working on the project are resolved to pay homage to Payne’s memory and aspire to make the series a phenomenal success, reports the Mirror US.

They shared, “Even though Liam had filmed a substantial amount of material for the show, the decision was made shortly after his passing to continue the project, honour his legacy and amazing story as a One Direction member and bring this series to audiences.”
Furthermore, they stated, “They’re back to filming, and Netflix is not going to hide Liam’s contribution to this project.”
Prior to his solo career, Payne was a part of the UK’s cherished pop boyband One Direction with Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Harry Styles, born from the hit reality show X-Factor in 2010. Following Zayn Malik’s high-profile departure in 2015, the group took an indefinite “hiatus” the following year
After One Direction went on hiatus, Liam Payne launched his solo career with the single Strip That Down, which garnered a lukewarm response. He continued to release new music before dropping his debut album, LP1, in 2019.
Away from the spotlight, Liam is a devoted father to his son Bear, whom he shares with former X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez, previously known as Cheryl Cole. The pair first crossed paths during his X Factor audition.
In the past, Liam has been candid about his battle with alcohol abuse. In a heartfelt YouTube video, he confessed: “I just kind of feel like I’ve got more of a grip on life and everything that was getting away from me, I just feel like I’ve got more of a handle on it. I just needed to take a little bit of time out for myself actually because I kind of became somebody who I didn’t really recognize anymore. And I’m sure you guys didn’t either. I was in bad shape up until that point and I was really happy to kind of put a stopper to life and work.”
