Meghan Markle’s new TV show “feels a bit done” a royal commentator claims, ahead of an upcoming series to be led by the Duchess focused on lifestyle.
The previously announced show, is expected to hit screens in the coming months and it centres on “cooking, gardening and entertaining”.
But the panel of The Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential podcast weren’t exactly blown away by the royal’s latest venture.
Asked about the new docuseries, the Mail’s editor at large Richard Kay, said it sounds “very much to me like a remake of The Tig, her famous pre-marriage blog which she wound down when she married Harry”.
“Lifestyle stuff, gardening, entertaining, cooking,” he continued. “These are going to be the themes, so Meghan is positioning herself as sort of a new lifestyle figure, like Martha Stewart”.
The podcast’s host Jo Elvin reflected, “it just feels a bit done, isn’t it? Have we run out of ideas for Meghan’s career?”
The newspaper’s diary editor Richard Eden said, “The idea was to coincide with a series on Netflix, so it makes sense doesn’t it if there’s things featured on this programme that she could then sell.
“But certainly, I think their finances are riding on this. We’re seeing Harry less and less involved in the moneymaking side of the Sussex operation, and so it all hinges on Meghan.”
