With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s company Archewell Productions reportedly facing soaring costs, one royal expert believes the former Suits actress could be sitting on a ‘gold mine’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix contract is nearing its end with many wondering what the Sussexes will do next for income.

With further book deals, endorsements and even property moves touted as a money maker for the couple, it remains to be seen what their next power play will be. However, one expert believes former actress Meghan could be sitting on a “gold mine” that the couple can reap the rewards from. Following the success of Harry’s memoir titled Spare, royal expert Tom Bower thinks it would be Meghan’s autobiography that could bring in the big bucks for the couple.

The author of Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, told Talk TV: “The only thing she has got left – and I think that is her potential gold mine – is her autobiography. She has a very very vivid imagination and she’ll be able to spell out an amazing story… to increase her income.”

The author of Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, told Talk TV: “The only thing she has got left – and I think that is her potential gold mine – is her autobiography. She has a very very vivid imagination and she’ll be able to spell out an amazing story… to increase her income.”

The claim came after Tom had already told the station that he believes Meghan first came to London in a bid to boost her acting career. He said: “The problem is, she isn’t a great actress. Her acting career ended long before she arrived in London – that’s why she came here. She couldn’t find any more work after Suits.”

Meghan and Harry’s company company Archewell Productions is said to be facing soaring costs in the entertainment industry, following last year’s actors and writers strikes. It’s now been suggested that the couple could be facing a “make-or-break year” which could see them end up in financial crisis.

Speaking to The Express, a source issued a strong warning to the pair, saying: “What immediately worries me is the alarming lack of any other original content on their roster.” Harry and Meghan have just one new production lined up with Netflix, despite their five-year $100million (£78million) contract being up for renewal next year.

The couple will be producing a film adaptation of the best-selling novel Meet Me at The Lake. Netflix is said to have paid $3.8million (£2.9million) for the movie rights. The source went on to say: “Netflix bought the book they are adapting but the question everyone in Hollywood is asking is: Can they actually pull this off without either of them having any real prior experience? This is a make-or-break year for them in every sense.”
