Devastated Liam Payne fans have waited on the street to watch the late One Direction singer’s coffin as it approached the church, carried in a horse-drawn hearse to his resting place
Fans of Liam Payne have lined the streets to say goodbye to their idol as his coffin arrives at his final resting place.
The star’s funeral is taking place today, with his loved ones and celebrity pals making their way to Buckinghamshire as he is laid to rest following his tragic death. Liam sustained horrific injuries and “multiple traumas” when he fell from a hotel room balcony in Argentina on October 16.
Liam’s grieving fans have travelled to pay their respects, after his body was repatriated by his father Geoff back home to England a fortnight ago. They could be seen lining the streets of Amersham while they waited for Liam’s coffin to arrive.
Among those bidding their final farewells are Liam’s former bandmates from One Direction, including Harry Styles, who was seen arriving with Louis Tomlinson as they made their way to the ceremony.

Liam’s ex Cheryl Tweedy and their son Bear Payne are in attendance at the star’s private send off. Cheryl’s Girls Aloud bandmates Kimberly Walsh and Nicola Roberts were the first to arrive, as mourners consoled each other and exchanged embraces.
While Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson arrived at the entrance of St Marys Church with other mourners, Cheryl kept a low profile. Liam’s ex arrived through the back of the church as she headed in to pay her respects. Cheryl and Liam were close after their break-up in 2018 and they co-parented their son Bear seven.

The music mogul that propelled Liam and One Direction to fame, Simon Cowell arrived with his wife Lauren Silverman, the pair walking hand in hand as they approached the church. Simon previously said he was “truly devastated” and “heartbroken” to hear of Liam’s sudden death.
Liam’s coffin arrived at the church in a horse-drawn hearse, with white roses adorning the carriage and Liam’s name spelled out in flowers. Pallbearers solemnly moved the casked as the church bell tolled, with friends and fans stood silently clutching photos and flowers in remembrance of Liam.

Former Saturday Night Live host James Corden joined mourners. The actor and presenter, who is close with many of the One Direction singers, made his way into the church alongside other celebrities, including Rochelle and Marvin Humes.
A wake is planned following Liam’s funeral, where his family and friends will celebrate his short life. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death continues.
