Liam Payne’s fans have been left in tears after his lesser-known Christmas song made a poignant comeback. The heartache comes following the former One Direction member’s tragic passing at just 31 years old after he fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16, 2024.

As the festive season brings an endless loop of holiday hits in shops and on the radio during car journeys, it was Liam’s five year old Christmas single that tugged at heartstrings. Released on his YouTube channel ‘Liam Payne’s Official’, which has a following of 3.87M, the 2019 track titled ‘All I Want (For Christmas)’ is a touching acoustic number that speaks of spending December with someone special, reports OK!

Fans rediscovering the song amid the holiday period and in the wake of Liam’s untimely death have poured out their emotions online. A touching comment under the YouTube video read: “Love this Christmas song. Thanks Liam Payne. You are so funny, down to earth and great talent who has gone way too soon. So much love and comfort to your close family and friends who will be devastated and miss you so much – May you RIP you beautiful soul xx.”

A second mourned: “It would be first Christmas without you. Rest in peace our angel Payno and thank you. We all miss you so much.” A third observed: “I will never understand why his solo career did not take off as well as the other members of 1D. His voice is beautiful.” Another fan was captivated and added: “His voice is absolutely mesmerising such a beautiful man he was. Rest in Paradise Payno,” while another supported the sentiment: “This song should be number one for Christmas this year 2024 ..r.i.p Liam.”

In the same year, during the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special, Liam took centre stage, performing his Christmas hit while Johannes Radebe and Nadiya Bychkova executed an exquisite dance routine beneath the show’s glittering lights.
