Kelly Clarkson opens up for the first time about her weight l0ss battle amid rumors she might leave her talk show: ‘I just went through a nig:htmare’

Kelly Clarkson revealed she has butted heads with Human Resources on more than one occasion following her dramatic 60lb weight loss.

While performing at the Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the singer, 43, admitted to having difficulty observing HR’s strict rules when it comes to her new look during her concert on Saturday night.

After a fan in the audience told her she looked ‘sexy’ up on stage, the mother-of-two  confessed that she often feels frustrated with having to keep her comments to herself.

‘Every time I go to an HR meeting, I’m like, “How have I not been fired?” I grew up on the road at 19 years old, you know what I’m saying? I’m like, “Oh, that is inappropriate. I would never,”‘ she asserted regarding negative comments about someone’s appearance.

‘But they also say you’re not allowed to say someone looks attractive, and I say f**k that,’ the Stronger artist exclaimed.

‘Because some of those b**ches are out here working, and we’re trying, and I want every motherf****r that passes me to go, “Damn. Well done,”‘ she said.

While recalling an argument she had with an HR rep regarding complimenting someone on their improved appearance, she said she’d been scolded.

‘They were like, “Well, it might make people feel bad that they looked bad before.” I was fat before, so I’m saying I want you to say, “Damn,”‘ she told her fans.

Clarkson reminded the audience there’s ‘nothing wrong’ with anyone’s body and that she felt ‘very confident’ when she was heavier.

‘I felt fine both ways, but I’m just saying it’s a lot more fun with clothes now. And I’ve been working on it,’ she said.

She then thanked the fan for the compliment, joking she would not be reporting them to HR.

Clarkson also commented that the Hard Rock Live venue in Atlantic City was a good one for her.

‘We love the talk show, but we usually don’t get to do shows because of the schedule, so thank you so much,’ she said.

‘It’s cool,’ she added, ‘It’s only like two hours away from home in New York City.’

In May 2024, Emmy Award winner has admitted she used a prescription medication to aid in her weight loss, which also included exercise and healthier eating.

While interviewing Whoopi Goldberg on her talk show, the Fort Worth, Texas-born star revealed that doctors prescribed her with a weight loss medication after a blood test.

She insisted she didn’t use Ozempic, but did not reveal which drug she used instead.

‘Mine is a different one than people assume, but I ended up having to do that too,’ the A Moment Like This songstress told the EGOT winner. ‘Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic, it’s not – it’s something else.’

She reportedly lost 60 pounds, according to Extra TV, although Kelly has not revealed the exact amount herself.

The popstar, who shares daughter River Rose, nine, and son Remington Alexander, seven, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, said that her physician insisted she take the medication after repeated efforts to get her on it.

‘My doctor chased me for like two years,’ she said. ‘And I was like, “No, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems, I was afraid.”‘

Kelly said the medication she takes is ‘something that aids in helping break down the sugar,’ as her ‘body doesn’t do it right.

The hitmaker, presumably speaking about how she didn’t notice that she had progressively gained weight, said that she was taken aback when watching herself on camera at one point and seeing her drastic transformation.

She added: ‘Seeing yourself, I didn’t see it… all of a sudden, I was like “Who the f*** is that?”‘

At the time, Kelly reiterated that she had not been paying attention to her weight for some time.

‘It’s a weird thing … I never saw that, I was never insecure about it – I just did not see that,’ Kelly said, adding that at her heaviest, she weighed 203 pounds standing at 5-foot-3.

Kelly said she was not miserable or depressed at the time, even though in hindsight, she felt she looked like she was ‘about to die of a heart attack.’
