Karoline Leavitt was called a “phony” after a photo of her feeding her baby at the office surfaced: “While she enjoys the privilege of bringing her child to work, she’s the mouthpiece of stripping virtual work options for those who can’t afford to bring theirs to work”

Karoline Leavitt has revealed that being a mom takes priority over her role as White House Press Secretary after an image of her feeding her son in her office went viral

A photo of Karoline Leavitt juggling her press secretary role with motherhood has gone viral as she admits her role in the White House is not her favorite job.

Just days before celebrating her first Mother’s Day, Leavitt was snapped feeding her nine-month-old son Nicholas Robert Riccio, nicknamed Niko, while typing away at her desk. Margo Martin, special assistant to the president and communications advisor, took the photo and posted it to her X account as she dubbed Leavitt a “Super Mom!”

“Walked in to @PressSec typing with one hand, and feeding her son with the other,” Martin wrote alongside the image, which has since received nearly 60,000 likes and 10,000 comments.

Many were quick to commend Leavitt, branding her a “boss mom” and praising her for being a “powerful woman and mom”.

But others slammed the press secretary as they accused her of being “fake” and using her young son for a photo op.

“Staged photo. ‘Look at me ladies, I’m just like you’ says the woman making six figures taking a baby to the White House for a photo op,” one wrote.

A second added: “Way to pose for a propaganda shot. And isn’t this every working mother?

“And while she enjoys the privilege of bringing her child to work, she’s the mouthpiece of stripping virtual work options for those who can’t afford to bring theirs to work. ‘Do as I say and not as I do.'”

One questioned: “Conveniently walked in at the perfect photo op time?” Another responded: “For someone who lies on a daily basis for her boss, this picture seems staged, fake, and artificial.”

Leavitt is the youngest person ever to hold the job as White House Press Secretary.

But as she recently opened up about the impact that motherhood has had on her, the 27-year-old admitted her work for Donald Trump is not her top priority as she revealed another role she loves more.

She told the Daily Mail: “I’m very blessed to have this job, and I love my job as press secretary, but my favorite job of all, and my top priority is my job of being a mother, and I have learned quickly how to prioritize my time.”

Leavitt shared that she leans on her “village” of people to help juggle raising Niko with her White House job. This includes her mother, Erin, father, Bob and husband Nicholas — a 59-year-old real estate developer who she married in January.

“It’s challenging,” Leavitt admitted, but told other women: “You can do it. Lean on your support system and prioritize your number one job, which is to be be the best mom you can be.”
