Karoline Leavitt made what critics are calling a “dumb” slip up when speaking about the Russia -Ukraine war on Tuesday during a press conference at the White House.

The White House press secretary is not one to bite her tongue, but she did mix up two words in an embarrassing blunder while speaking to reporters.

Instead of saying the word “exerted” Leavitt said “exuded” as an X user posted the clip of her mess up on X with the caption “Leavitt saying Trump has “exuded” a “tremendous amount of effort” is a great Freudian slip. Trump certainly exudes lots of effort when it comes to his job. He just doesn’t exert much of it.”

In the footage posted to X, Karoline Leavitt says that Donald Trump is “frustrated” with how much “effort” it has taken to end the war.

“Children are dying as collateral result of the military conflict and the president wants to see it end as quickly and soon as possible,” Leavitt said.

“And I can tell you watching first hand he has exuded a tremendous amount of effort into this war, he’s getting frustrated with the amount of effort this has taken and he’s made that clear to both sides but he remains optimistic that we can get this done,” Leavitt concluded.
