“Harry is uncomfortable in the USA” as residency ‘hanging by a thread’

Prince Harry “should be worried” about his stay in the US after Donald Trump’s latest hire, according to reports.

Prince Harry’s US residency may be “hanging by a gossamer thread” after US President-elect, Donald Trump, made a key hire, reports have claimed.

The Duke of Sussex’s visa row has jumped back into the spotlight recently following Mr Trump’s electoral win, with many royal watchers wondering whether the election will affect Harry’s stay in the US.

Last year, a Washington-DC think-tank requested the prince’s visa records be made public due to his revelations about past drug use in his memoir Spare. Under US law, while not constituting an automatic ban, drug use can be grounds to reject a visa application.

The Heritage Foundation filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security demanding the publication of Harry’s visa documents following his explosive claims, saying that the request was of “immense public interest”, however, a judge ruled that his records should remain private.

Now, the Mail has warned that Mr Trump’s latest hire “should concern Harry”.

South Dakota governor Kristi Noem was appointed head of Homeland Security, which may not be good news for the duke.

The outlet’s Ephraim Hardcastle wrote: “She takes no nonsense and no prisoners, having shot and killed her 14-month-old wirehaired pointer Cricket in a gravel pit because he was ‘untrainable’ and ‘dangerous’.”

The Trumps and the Sussexes have been in an ongoing feud for a few years.

Their spat began in 2016 – before Meghan married into the Royal Family – when she accused the former US president of being “divisive” and “misogynistic” during an interview on The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore.

In 2020, the Republican presidential candidate hit out at Meghan again and said: “I’m not a fan of hers. I wish a lot of luck to Harry, he’s going to need it.”

Earlier this year, Mr Trump also hinted that he could intervene regarding Prince Harry’s visa “if he lied” about taking drugs in the past.

He also told the Daily Express US around the same time: “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me.”
