The White House press briefing suffered a hiccup as thousands tuned in to watch Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt bring out Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller to answer reporters’ questions.

For those watching the live stream of the conference on FOX News and on air saw the channel experienced audio difficulties as speech was delayed, resulting in Leavitt’s voice echoing. The issues were so bad that FOX News cut its coverage as Leavitt began her opening remarks.

“The White House is holding a press briefing right now so Trump can watch it on TV, but their audio is messed up, so Fox News has already pulled away,” a journalist reported on X – just hours after Ivanka Trump humiliated dad Donald with a ‘tasteless’ photo.

Other X users also witnessed the brief pause on the channel and were not impressed. “White House team: “Quick, give the boss a briefing to boost his mood.” AV gremlins: pull every cable at once. Fox News: “Aaand we’re out.” Result: The only thing Trump gets to watch is the sound of silence in HD,” one X account commented.

Another said: “The ultimate broadcast: full picture, zero substance.” A third used the audio blunder to make a dig at Leavitt, saying, “This is what I hear everytime she opens her mouth.”

Leavitt started the conference with updates about Trump’s upcoming agenda, including, his National Day of Prayer event, his commencement address at the University of Alabama and the establishment of United States Ukraine Reconstruction fund.

This week, Leavitt held a press briefing exclusively for what she referred to as the “new media,” stating that she was fulfilling a promise made at the beginning of the Trump administration to engage with “all media outlets.”

The “new media” seat she introduced to the standard White House briefings and rotating press pool has been predominantly but not solely occupied by right-wing media personalities. In a similar vein, Leavitt filled the “influencer” room with provocateurs and YouTubers who are highly supportive of the president.

“This is our first official influencer briefing,” Leavitt announced at the start of Monday’s event. She added: “Millions of Americans are now turning to social media and independent media outlets to consume their news, and we are embracing that change, not ignoring it.”
