Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, who is a regular critic of the Firm, has now sensationally accused the Royal Family of “grovelling” to the US President-elect Donald Trump.
The women’s rights activist and TV personality made the comments during an appearance on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, after Prince William had a warm exchange with Trump as they both attended the grand reopening of Notre Dame in Paris this weekend.
Dr Shola wasn’t impressed by the meeting, and suggested trying to leverage the prestige of the Royal Family to influence Trump’s thinking in Britain’s interest is a fool’s errand.
“What they bring to the table is pomp and circumstance and there’s no substance,” she said in the brutal ill-willed rant.
“Trump panders to this superficiality and the cloak of respectability that the Royal Family gives him. But the Royal Family is not going to be able to sway Trump on any of his decisions.
“The reality here is that Putin and Kim Jong-un have more chance of swaying Trump on his decisions, because he fears and admires them.”
Royal fans were quick to react, with one writing: “Dr Shola takes every opportunity to rubbish our Royals and our culture.”
A second added: “We had the pleasure of watching Dr Shola on Good Morning Britain today. She should be sued by Trump for her remarks … and I am surprised anyone on TV gives her a platform. She hates anything remotely British.”
A third chimed in: “Dr Shola is at it again.”

“That’s not the same kind of relationship he has with the Royal Family,” Dr Shola added.
GMB host Susanna Reid pushed back, pointing out that while Trump may not fear the Royal Family he clearly admires the institution. Trump, 78, recently showed journalists an album of photos, including treasured snaps of him alongside the late Queen Elizabeth II.
But Dr Shola says it may matter little given Trump’s volatility and unpredictable nature.
She said: “I think the reality here is that if there is ever a conflict between what Trump wants and what the UK wants, the only person changing their position would be the UK, not Donald Trump.
“And I think that it’s shameful that the Royal Family is now, like all of these other European leaders, going to be cow-towing and grovelling at the feet of the first convicted felon who has been democratically elected as American President.
“And as far as I’m concerned, what the Royal Family has to do is this: We can’t ignore Trump, because he’s a democratically elected President.”

She added: “What we must have is leadership, moral leadership, that shows that they have the balls… in order to be able to navigate what is clearly going to be a very difficult relationship with a man who is bad-tempered, acts in bad faith, who’s a racist and all of these other things”.
“But I don’t think the Royal Family would do that”, she added.
Trump denies he is racist, and insists his economic agenda will boost job creation for all Americans, including Black Americans.
Trump heaped praise on Prince William when the pair met on Saturday, saying the Prince of Wales is “doing a fantastic job” as they met in the foyer of the UK Ambassador’s residence in Paris.
The future king had travelled to the French capital “at the request of His Majesty’s Government on behalf of the United Kingdom”, according to a statement from Kensington Palace.
The pair shook hands and greeted one another before Trump turned to reporters and said “wow, what a nice group”. He then gestured to the Prince of Wales and added: “Good man, this one.”
The Prince of Wales asked the president-elect if he had warmed up and Trump replied that he had and that “it was a beautiful ceremony”.
They then walked upstairs to the “salon jaune”, the name reflecting the yellow decor in the room, for a 30-minute private meeting.
Inside, the pair discussed a range of global issues but focussed on the importance of the UK/US special relationship.
Kensington Palace said President Trump had also shared some warm and fond memories with the prince about the late Queen for which the father-of-three was extremely grateful.
