The Duchess of Sussex has finally launched her new lifestyle range that sells a mix of products, from wildflower honey costing £21 ($28) to a shortbread cookie mix costing £10 ($14)
Meghan Markle launched her new lifestyle brand on Wednesday
Meghan Markle has just launched her highly-anticipated lifestyle brand, As Ever, after teasing the products in her Netflix show. The shop – only available in the US at the moment – features a range of food products from crepe mixes to raspberry spreads.
It also contains herbal teas, as well as edible flower sprinkles to decorate your dishes with. But with all the items coming with a fairly high price tag, one nutritionist has dished the dirt on whether the ingredients live up to expectations.
Speaking to the Mirror, Jodie Brandman – a nutritional therapist and coach – says: “What you’re paying for is clearly the luxury of it being Meghan’s brand.”

One of the products on sale on the site, which sold out in minutes, is the Raspberry Spread costing £6.84 ($9). This product is said to be “inspired by the recipe Meghan crafted in her home kitchen”.
The main ingredient is raspberries, which Jodie says is a good sign. “The ingredients are quite clean,” she explains.
“There is more fruit than sugar, which is promising and better than some of the other brands out there.” But Jodie warns this still can’t be considered “healthy”, due to the added sugar.
The second main ingredient in the spread is Organic Pure Cane Sugar, followed by Organic Lemon Juice concentrate and Fruit Pectin. Overall, the spread appears to be fairly well balanced, though Jodie isn’t sure where the price tag comes from.
“I don’t get the price tag in terms of the actual ingredients,” she admits. “You are clearly paying for the name.”
Meghan’s brand is also selling a Shortbread Cookie Mix with Flower Sprinkles, costing £10.64 ($14). This is described as a “delicious cookie mix that includes a packet of As Ever signature flower sprinkles”.

The ingredients list on this product is much longer than the spread, with the main ingredient being Enriched Wheat Flour. Jodie gives her verdict on the mix.
“The shortbread is tricky because it’s now a legal requirement to fortify flour with folic acid,” she says. “I personally avoid and recommend avoiding synthetic additives – especially folic acid – as a nutritionist, especially for hormones and fertility.
“Again with things like dextrose and powdered sugar, it’s far from a healthy option. You’re probably better off to make your own at home and get some edible flowers.”

The same goes for the Crepe Mix, which also has added sugar. “We definitely can’t call these products healthy,” Jodie clarifies.
Fans have been flooding to the website to purchase Meghan’s products, with the line being sold out 30 minutes after it launched on Wednesday. The collection also features a Wildflower Honey with Honeycomb costing £21.60 ($28).
Ahead of their launch, Meghan said in a newsletter to followers: “Of course, you’ll find the raspberry spread that started it all presented in keepsake packaging that you can repurpose to tuck away love notes or special treasures, and to remember this pivotal moment with me. Think of it as our time capsule.”
