Jimploded wrote on Facebook that Mr Musk is developing a robot designed to assist women in carrying their pregnancies. In the post, Ms James noted that the robot needed only the woman’s egg and the man’s sperm.

“Like I said before, I keep getting ideas from posts (and responses) that I read:

Elon Musk is Currently working on a new version of Robots that can carry your baby for 9 months while you go about your work .  You and your husband just need to bring your spèřms and eggs . They fertilize and allow it to grow inside the robot for 9 months.

One response was:  “Just like in the days of Noah”?” The post wrote.

The post that has now gone viral on Facebook can be found here, here, here, here, here, here. The viral post garnered 823 likes, 496 comments, and 57 shares since it was posted on Oct. 24, 2024.

Given the post’s virality, sensitive nature, and the personality involved, DUBAWA decided to investigate it.

Verification

A keyword search on the post revealed different variations of news started making rounds after a Tesla event on Oct. 11, 2024. Mr Musk introduced the latest human-like robots and autonomous “cyber cab” transportation at the event.

In the one-hour video, they discussed autonomous cars, the Optimus robots performing tasks, and friendly robots that can help with chores around the house. Mr Musk said that Optimus could perform a wide range of everyday tasks in and outside the home, and he estimated that the robot would be available for purchase at around $30,000. However, the video did not mention a robot that can help carry pregnancies.

Tech Explore News also noted that Mr Musk was working on a robot that helps with day-to-day activities.

“It can be a teacher, babysit your kids. It can walk your dog, mow your lawn, get the groceries, just be your friend, serve drinks,” the page wrote.

We went through Tesla’s official page and saw no announcement about robots that can carry pregnancies.

After using hivemoderation and aiornot, we discovered the images shared in the Facebook post were doctored, as they had 98% and 99% AI-generated elements and didn’t look like the Optimus robot in the Tesla video.

 Conclusion

The claim that Elon Musk is developing a robot capable of carrying a pregnancy is false. After reviewing the “We, Robots” Tesla event and official sources, we confirmed that no such project was announced or discussed. The images shared in the post are manipulated and do not match Tesla’s existing robot model, Optimus.
