Police investigating the death of Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy are combing through hours of body-cam footage from the responders who arrived at the scene

Chilling body camera footage is expected to be released of the Gene Hackman death scene.

The sheriff’s office in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is combing through footage now from the ten deputies who arrived at the scene. One of the key pieces of information to establish from the footage was to what extent the property was secured. It comes amid conflicting reports about the door being left open or not.

Cops are trying to establish a “fully rounded picture” and to ensure they haven’t missed any key information or details that could prove crucial to the case. This footage could then be released to the public. It comes as cops are trying to crack the two mobile phones that were found at the scene.

They were looking at bringing in forensic investigators to unlock the two devices which were found at the scene. They were desperate to do so in order to establish a timeline for the couple whose deaths were shrouded in mystery.

A key component of the case being solved rests on the results of the toxicology tests carried out on the couple’s bodies. This could shed light on if the pills found by Hackman’s wife Betsy’s body could be responsible for her death. Cops were also set to quiz Gene Hackman’s three children he had with his ex-wife, Faye Maltese: Christopher, 65, Elizabeth, 63, and Leslie, 58.

It’s not known if this has been done yet but they were trying to piece together Gene and his wife Betsy’s final days. The pair were found dead in separate rooms of their New Mexico home last week.

Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza has previously told how it had been a “challenge” so far to determine the last people the couple spoke to. Daughter Leslie, 58, has said how she hadn’t spoken to the couple for months.

She said: “We were close. I hadn’t talked to them for a couple of months, but everything was normal and everything was good.”
