Cheryl said goodbye to her ex Liam Payne at his funeral on Wednesday (November 20), alongside Liam’s One Direction bandmates such as Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson

Cheryl is said to have made a heartbreaking vow to her ex Liam Payne.

The Girls Aloud singer was among those who attended the singer’s funeral on Wednesday (November 20). Liam tragically died after falling from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16.

The funeral service also saw the reunion of Liam’s One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan. Cheryl was joined by herGirls Aloud bandmates Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh at the funeral, held in the Home Counties.

Cheryl, who friends say is “devastated” by Liam’s death, is said to have made a final vow to him for the sake of their seven-year-old son, Bear.

A friend claimed to MailOnline that she has promised that their child will never forget his father. Friends of the singer told the news outlet that Cheryl is “dreadfully sad”.

They added: “She has her own grief, but she also has a little boy who won’t see his daddy again, and that is just heartbreaking.” The insider said that while Cheryl and Liam split in 2018, they “bonded” over their mutual love for their son.

Cheryl shared a tribute to Liam after his death on Instagram, telling fans she has to “face the reality of never seeing his father again”. She posted a black and white picture of Payne in bed with his son.

She said: “As I try to navigate this earth shattering event, and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time, I’d like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being.
