Caitlin Clark Stuns Fans With 9-Word Response to WNBA Scuffles — Her True Colors Revealed

Caitlin Clark has returned to the Indiana Fever after her injury layoff while seeing herself continue to be a target for defensive players to hard foul with the Connecticut Sun taking that approach

Caitlin Clark and Jacy Sheldon almost came to blows in the game

Caitlin Clark has little interest in getting involved or discussing any on-court dramas after Connecticut Sun guard Jacy Sheldon appeared to slap her while guarding her during the game.

Clark retaliated by pushing her after being hit in the face while on offense, as Sheldon continued to hard foul the superstar guard throughout the game. The Indiana Fever star had some words for her back, stating “you can’t guard me” after hitting a three-point shot on her, while letting her game do the talking.

The Fever went on to win the game by a convincing scoreline of 88-71, with Clark dropping 20 points and six rebounds, with her speaking to the media afterwards while wanting to move on from the drama.

When asked about what was going on between the two, Clark said: “You guys came for basketball, let’s talk about basketball. Come on now.

“We’re going to the Commissioner’s Cup Championship, that’s pretty exciting. Y’all wanna talk about that? Let’s talk about that.”

The Fever’s win over the Sun in the in-season tournament sees them advance to the championship round of the Commissioner’s Cup, which has followed suit of the NBA’s in-season tournament.

Clark’s team will face the Minnesota Lynx in the game, who were defeated in the WNBA Finals by the New York Liberty last year.

The Fever has been boosted by Clark’s return from a quad injury, having been out for over two weeks while seeing the team drop to a 5-5 record.

Indiana is now among the favorites to compete for the WNBA championship, despite their subpar performances in recent weeks without Clark.

The addition of head coach Stephanie White, who returned to the team from the Sun, has given them a boost as well as their roster improvements.

The Fever traded for Sophie Cunningham and Jaelyn Brown and adding Natasha Howard, DeWanna Bonner, Sydney Colson and Brianna Turner in free agency. This has seen them rise to one of the favorites to win the WNBA title, just less than two years after having the worst record in the league in 2023.

Sheldon made contact with Clark’s face on multiple occasions in the game

Seattle Storm guard Lexie Brown believes the Fever has done a perfect job in building around Clark, stating: “They gave Caitlin some dawgs around her. They not playing around. They gave her some more shooters. Natasha Howard, I think, was their best signing. I think people forgot what type of player she was while she’s been in Dallas.

“She’s a great defensive player, she can go out and give you 30 [points], she’s a great screener, which is going to be very beneficial for Caitlin.

“DeWanna Bonner, just having that veteran presence and energy, like she can go make big time buckets for you. Sophie Cunningham, just her energy alone, I’m excited to see her back at her natural position, which is the three… and then of course re-signing Kelsey Mitchell.”
