G$ Lil Ronnie and his 5-year-old daughter R’mani were shot and murdered at a car wash in Forest Hill, Texas. Everyone was left in shock by the senseless attack in early March in 2025. It sent shockwaves throughout the music industry and beyond. It has left everyone wondering about violence and how to keep innocent lives safe.
According to a report by the Forest Hill Police Department, the fatal incident occurred when two armed men leaped from a white four-door Kia and attacked Lil Ronnie in his vehicle with his daughter. Surveillance footage, now seen online, shows the men chasing the rapper around a parking lot and then shooting him dead. His daughter, R’mani, did not survive the brutal attack.
It’s thought by authorities that it was a targeted attack. Law enforcement apprehended Adonis Robinson, 24, in Livingston, Texas, following a detailed investigation. The second suspect, however, remains at large, and police are actively pursuing leads to capture him.
Their death has had a lasting impact in hip-hop. Other artists, fans, and friends have expressed shock and outrage across social media. Rapper Soulja Boy tweeted a eulogy on X, formerly Twitter, that read, “RIP to my brudda G$ Lil Ronnie love u fam.” Dallas club dancer Kedrick Wilson, aka Mr. Hit Dat, also shared fond memories about his time with the rapper, lamenting his passing. Go Yayo, a close friend to Lil Ronnie, posted a message on Instagram that stated, “Life or death u big brudda @hoodfamelilronnie.” The condolences revealed just how much those around him were impacted by Lil Ronnie.
One of the most powerful responses was from rapper Boosie Badazz, a long-time vocal champion of keeping children safe. In a heartfelt statement, Boosie stated, “Children are off-limits. You see your opponent with their children, let them get home.” His words have resonated with many, and his message has been that such tragedies can never be repeated.
Boosie’s statement serves as a stark reminder of what can happen to a community because of violence, particularly when innocent lives get caught in crossfire. His call for peace has renewed debate about how to resolve conflict in communities and keep children safe.
