The lives of several women’s basketball players are about to change forever. On Monday night, the 2025 WNBA Draft will take place at The Shed in Manhattan, New York. There will be 38 total selections across three rounds, and it will be the first draft with the new expansion team, the Golden State Valkyries.
UConn’s Paige Bueckers is expected to be the first overall pick by the Dallas Wings, followed by international player Dominique Malonga. The rest of the draft can play out any which way, and many are intrigued to see where Hailey Van Lith ends up. The Louisville, LSU and TCU product gained thousands of new fans over the past year, and she’s now in the public eye more than ever before. Perhaps more than she wants, though.

Van Lith’s “secret romance” was apparently exposed by the WNBA’s social media account. They posted a video of Van Lith arriving to New York ahead of the draft, and right behind her was Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs carrying some of her bags.

Fans quickly picked up on it. Technically, their relationship has been out in the open in the past. It’s never actually been confirmed, but Suggs has appeared in social media posts with Van Lith in the past. It’s possible they’re just very good friends, although Suggs called her “wife” in the past.
Despite a fantastic final collegiate season and a strong performance for TCU in the NCAA Tournament, Van Lith isn’t fully expected to be a first round pick in the draft. It may still happen, but the WNBA isn’t completely sold on her potential at the next level.
