CAUGHT ON CAMERA… THE FINAL MOMENTS OF JARO CITY’S LIL MIKEY LEFT CHICAGO SHAKEN

Lil Mikey (real name Michael), a 29-year-old rapper affiliated with Jaro City, was standing in the area of 63rd & Drexel (near a gas station often described in reports) when everything turned deadly in broad daylight.

Witnesses and early scanner details say he had been arguing with another man. The tension escalated quickly — voices rising, words turning sharp. Then, suddenly, the situation spiraled out of control.

A second individual reportedly exited a white vehicle, approached, exchanged words with Lil Mikey, and opened fire. He was struck multiple times (reports circulating say around 10 shots) and was pronounced dead at the scene.

While no publicly released clear CCTV footage of the exact shooting moment has surfaced widely in mainstream reports (though aftermath videos and scene footage have circulated online), the story has spread rapidly through Chicago drill pages, social media, and local news updates.

This latest tragedy adds to the ongoing cycle of violence that continues to claim lives in the city — lives of people who often had complex stories, including time spent locked away, attempts at music careers, and the pull of the streets.

Rest in peace to Lil Mikey and condolences to his family, friends, and everyone affected.

These stories hit hard because they show how quickly things can turn — one argument, one bad moment, and it’s over.
