Princess Diana would have been 65 this year
Prince William has posted a never-before-seen picture of his mother, Princess Diana, for Mother’s Day.
The image was taken at Highgrove in 1984, and shows two-year-old William in a field of flowers alongside his mother.
William captioned the image: “Remembering my mother, today and every day.
“Thinking of all those who are remembering someone they love today. Happy Mother’s Day. W.”

Fans were quick to comment on the touching photo, with many stating how “proud” Diana would be of the future King.
One user said: “Beautiful photo, she would be so proud of you and your family William!”
Another added: “In our hearts she will always be!”
The Royal Family also posted a selection of photos on X to mark Mother’s Day.
They included a photo of King Charles and his sister Anne, now the Princess Royal, at Balmoral, Scotland, in 1953 with their mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

On Saturday, the Prince of Wales paid tribute to one of the causes close to Diana’s heart.
William took to social media to mark the 40th anniversary of the Swimathon UK, a project Princess Diana helped to get off the ground.
She played a key role in launching the charity, which has now inspired hundreds of thousands of people to take on swimming challenges in the last 40 years.
The charity is marking the occasion by hosting the annual fundraising event in over 450 pools across the UK between March 20 and 22.
In his message, the Prince of Wales said: “Congratulations to Swimathon UK on 40 years of bringing people together through swimming. It’s so inspiring to see hundreds of thousands of people taking part while raising millions for life-changing charities. W.”

The first nationwide Swimathon took place in 1988, and it was launched with Olympic gold medalist Duncan Goodhew.
Princess Diana played a key role in getting eyes on the event and grew the charity into what it is today.
