Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney went head to head in the infamous Wagatha Christie trial but it seems one party is eager to put the past behind them and ‘move on’
I’m A Celebrity¦ Get Me Out of Here! ended last night, and while one star wiped his tears, another celebrity is coming home to a surprising message of support.
Coleen Rooney, 38, finished second to McFly star Danny Jones in the finale of the hit ITV reality show, and while she missed out on being crowned Queen of the Jungle, it seems she is coming home to an olive branch of sorts after her rival made a very public and very unexpected sentiment.
It’s no secret that Rebekah Vardy and her fellow WAG didn’t get along following the infamous Wagatha Christie trial in 2022. However, all of that could be about to change after she shared an encouraging message for Coleen in her final I’m A Celebrity hot take just hours after the show wrapped for its 24th season.
The WAG has been writing a column for The Sun, giving her opinion on each episode of the hit reality show and while she has taken a swipe at Coleen here and there, resulting in many waiting for a savage comment after the star came in second place, Rebekah has instead chosen to take the mature approach.
When it came time for her to recap Coleen’s I’m A Celebrity journey, Rebekah, who was wearing a dark-coloured jumper with her hair pulled up, played it cool and said her former pal has “had a fab series.” She continued to say that Coleen has “really done well” and should be “proud” as she heads home to her family, Wayne Rooney and their four boys.
Knowing her comments would have surprised viewers, Rebekah smiled coyly as she explained: “I know you’re all waiting for me to say something else, but I’m sorry to disappoint. It’s just not happening. It’s really, really time to move on and end the year with a positive.”

Rebekah and Coleen’s relationship took a rocky turn in 2019 when Coleen wrote on X (formerly Twitter ) that Rebekah had been leaking posts from her private Instagram account to The Sun. In retaliation, Rebekah sued her former pal for libel, with the trial taking place in London in May 2022.
Following the highly publicised legal battle, the court found Coleen’s claims were “substantially true,” and Rebekah was ordered to pay for a majority of her rival’s legal fees in addition to her own. The total is estimated to have been around the £3 million mark. But it seems Rebekah is ready to put all of that behind her.
As for how Rebekah felt about Danny’s win, she said the musician was “born for this” and was so impressed that he “just got on with it” and never moaned or complained. Praising his vulnerability and ability to listen to others during their moments of need, she continued to say that it was very clear “how much it meant to him when he won.”
