Sally Nugent expressed concern for Jon Kay during Monday’s edition of BBC Breakfast, as he reported live from Washington. Although the UK was five hours ahead, Jon was still awake and delivered the latest election news without having slept.
After his last segment, Sally expressed her worry: “Jon, you still haven’t said when you’re going to sleep. I am going to worry about you all day now.”
Jon could only laugh in response: “I have no idea.”
Ben Thompson chimed in with a caution: “Pace yourself, it is going to be a long week, we might not see you for a few weeks if it keeps going on and on.”
He also added a friendly reminder before bidding farewell to his co-star: “Pace yourself, Jon. We will see you soon,” reports the Express.

Throughout the show, Sally and Ben frequently switched over to Jon, who updated viewers through video link.
Despite this, some audience members were critical, questioning why the BBC spent TV Licence funds to send Jon to the US.
On X, one viewer grumbled: “How much is this costing the license payers?”
Another echoed the sentiment: “Licence fee money spent on foreign jollies for breakfast presenters.”
