McLaren se lleva 140 millones de dólares, Red Bull pierde un buen pico y Aston Martin se mantiene quinto y no se resiente
McLaren ha sido finalmente el campeón del Mundial de constructores 2024, por 14 puntos de diferencia sobre Ferrari, y eso le va a reportar un botín extra, el del reparto de fondos asignado por la F1, dependiendo del orden en la clasificación final. Los de Woking vuelven a lo más alto 26 años después.
Fue en 1998 cuando Mika Hakkinen (campeón de pilotos ) y David Coulthard, comandados por Ron Dennis, se impusieron en el Mundial de aquella temporada al Ferrari de Michael Schumacher y Eddie Irvine por sólo 23 puntos y ahora recuperan con Norris y Piastri el cetro. Quizá no sea muy (o nada) apreciado por los aficionados, pero para los equipos es muy importante, pues de su posición depende el reparto de dinero sobre la bolsa asignada cada año por la F1 para todas las ecuadras.
Sobre lo que cobró 2023 cada equipo, se puede establecer una relación aproximada de cómo quedará el reparto en 2024. Y McLaren sería el primero como campeón con un total de 140 millones de dólares (moneda única en la F1), lo que casi le permitirá sufragar la fabricación del coche y pagar a los empleados el próximo años.
De hecho, el límite presupuestario marcado actualmente es de 135 millones, pero en esa cifra no entran ni los sueldos de los pilotos, ni los hospitalities, ni el márketing, por lo que McLaren podrá destinar un interesante dinero a otras partidas del equipo. Son 27 millones más que en 2023, donde fueron cuartos.
Ferrari estará sobre los 131, Red Bull sobre los 122 (18 menos que en 2023), lo que no compensaría el despido de Checo Pérez por 20 millones y Mercedes ingresaría unos 113.
El equipo de Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin, repite en el quinto puesto, por lo que se lleva unos 104 millones y no se resiente en ese aspecto, pese a haber sumado muchos menos puntos que el pasado curso.
La lucha cerrada por el sexto puesto ha sido finalmente para… Alpine, que con el estirón final de Gasly en las últimas citas fue inalcanzable para Haas, que se quedaron a 7 puntos de los de Enstone.
