ndrew Mountbatten-Windsor is said to be moving into Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate, but there’s one unexpected rule he must reportedly follow with his new home: no cats allowed.

According to reports, the “no cats” policy was originally introduced by the late Queen Elizabeth II. It is reportedly enforced to protect the estate’s game birds, including the pheasants that roam freely across the grounds.

Dogs, however, are considered on a “case-by-case” basis.

Andrew’s new residence is located about two miles from the main Sandringham House.

Workmen have recently been spotted installing security lights, fencing, and apparently even Sky TV at the property, signalling that the former royal’s move is imminent.

His relocation follows mounting criticism over his continued residence at Royal Lodge, particularly in light of his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew was stripped of his royal titles and honours in late 2025. He has lived largely out of public view since 2019.

According to HELLO! Royal Editor Emily Nash, despite the downgrade in prestige, Andrew’s daily life may not change much.

“He has been living largely out of the public eye since 2019,” she noted. “Andrew has often been seen out riding. That’s something he could easily continue at Sandringham, which is home to the Royal Stud.”

Andrew and Sarah’s ‘deal’ over daughters Beatrice and Eugenie

Meanwhile, royal biographer Andrew Lownie has claimed that Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, are still united in their focus on their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

“Everything now is about the daughters,” he told Marie Claire. He added that Beatrice and Eugenie “have been passed the baton” in preserving their family’s royal presence.

Although not senior working royals, the sisters occasionally attend events on behalf of King Charles, who is said to want them close.

According to Lownie: “The deal is, parents will fall on their swords as long as the daughters are taken care of.”

Sarah also lost her Duchess of York title last year. She faced backlash of her own after a 2011 email calling Epstein a “supreme friend” resurfaced. Her team later claimed the comment was sent under duress.

Andrew, for his part, continues to deny all allegations made against him.

Virginia Giuffre accused the former duke of sexual assault. Ms Giuffre alleged she was made to sleep with Andrew on three occasions when she was 17 after being trafficked by Epstein.

Resurfaced emails last year also suggested that Andrew was in contact with Epstein in early 2011. This contradicts his claim that he cut ties in December 2010.
