A star from this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! line-up has already secured a major daytime TV role — and it isn’t the newly crowned King of the Jungle, Angry Ginge.
Instead, it’s Tom Read Wilson who has emerged as the surprise breakout star. Best known before the jungle as the charming receptionist on Celebs Go Dating, Tom made his debut on This Morning today as the show’s newest Agony Uncle, marking a significant career move just days after finishing runner-up on the ITV reality series.

Producers are said to have acted quickly, keen to lock him in following his strong public reception in the jungle. Each year, This Morning has a reputation for giving a career-boosting platform to popular campmates — with former I’m A Celeb winner Sam Thompson, along with Ferne McCann and Vicky Pattison, all going on to become regular faces on the programme.
This time, however, it was Tom — rather than winner Angry Ginge — who caught the attention of the daytime TV team, despite Ginge’s victory on Sunday night instantly making him one of the most sought-after new personalities on British television.

Tom kicked off his new role by chatting with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, reflecting on his jungle experience. Ben noted how naturally Tom slipped into the role of emotional support in camp, telling him:
“One of the things I’ve loved, Tom, is that you really became a sort of go-to Agony Uncle for your campmates.”
Tom agreed, explaining how life in the jungle encouraged him to open up. He credited Shona McGarty in particular, saying she taught him the importance of vulnerability.
“We all are so vulnerable anyway,” he said, adding that their emotional journeys often mirrored one another.
He also revealed that offering comfort and guidance has always come naturally to him, even during his time on Celebs Go Dating.
“I try to be a shoulder and a bosom if I can,” Tom said. “So it was nice to occupy that space in the jungle.”
Producers wasted no time putting him to the test, inviting him back later in the show to give live advice to viewers. During the segment, a caller named Dario asked whether he should confess his feelings to a colleague at an office Christmas party.
Tom advised against waiting until alcohol took over, suggesting instead that subtle hints beforehand could transform the evening.
“Imagine what a delicious evening it could be,” he said. “You don’t want it to be an in vino veritas affair.”
The segment proved such a hit that Cat Deeley immediately asked if he would return. Tom didn’t hesitate:
“I would absolutely love to.”
Tom’s rapid rise is a stark contrast to the early days of his jungle stint, when many viewers admitted they had no idea who he was. His eloquent, often-described-as-“posh” way of speaking initially divided opinion, but his warmth, humour and emotional honesty soon won audiences over.
In one of the final episodes, Tom broke down in tears while speaking about how much he missed home.
“I’m a wreck, sorry,” he told his campmates, before admitting he had “opened the floodgates.” Kelly Brook comforted him, suggesting the moment could be a “healing time”.
Despite entering the competition as a late arrival, Tom went on to finish second behind Angry Ginge, with Shona McGarty taking third place — and now, just days later, he’s already stepping into a prominent new TV role.
