Moment Meghan Markle humiliated in ‘incredibly stupid’ blunder video

Meghan Markle lost her tenth publicist in five years after making an “incredibly stupid” blunder in a video, according to a royal biographer. Emily Robinson was understood to have become the Sussexes’ tenth publicist in five years when she joined in June 2025.
But sources say the Sussexes’ director of communications decided to leave in October. Royal biographer Ingrid Seward said there must have been disagreements between the publicist’s advice and what the Sussexes believed they should have done. She pointed to Meghan’s trip to 2025 Paris Fashion Week, when she made an “incredibly stupid” mistake, posting a video of her driving through the French capital which led to speculation
Ingrid told the Sun: “So, of course, everyone said, oh, she’s following the route that Diana took. Well, she probably may have been, or she may not have been, but how incredibly stupid. It was just really bad timing. Now, her PR people would surely have advised her that putting up all these posts is not a good idea.”

Since 2020, when they stepped back as senior royals and moved to California, Harry and Meghan are believed to have gone through 10 PR managers.
Robinson was poached from Netflix after she worked on The Crown. She ran publicity for episodes which showed the Al-Fayed family and Harry in Nazi fancy dress.
The couple then went on to to lose another US publicist, Meredith Maines, in December 2025. It was understood at the time that their UK and Europe director of communications, Liam Maguire, would take over her role.
Seward, the editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, said: “It must be quite chaotic working for the Sussexes. They’ve lost so many staff.
“It’s not that the staff stay for any length of time, they seem to make very brief appearances and then leave. It’s obvious the job they’re expected to do is not the job they imagined they would have.
“And it looks to me as if Megan is disagreeing with what they imagined (the Sussexes) should be doing. It seems to me that Meghan wants to control everything, so they certainly make some quite major PR errors.”
The Express has approached Sussex press officer Meredith Maines for comment.
