As King Charles prepares to mark a major milestone with his 75th birthday next month, he has one heartfelt desire – for his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, to put their differences aside and reconcile. The brothers’ relationship has been strained since Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, and the monarch hopes his birthday can be the catalyst for a new era of peace and understanding within the family.

A source close to the King revealed: “King Charles wants nothing more than peace to be restored in his family. He wants to draw a line under their past feuds and for Prince William and Prince Harry to get along – and what better timing than his birthday to bring them together.”

The source added: “King Charles has been through an awful lot since becoming king, and has been gallant in carrying out his duties while facing his own health woes as he announced he had cancer earlier this year. Now he wants to make memories with his wife, sons and grandchildren. This is what he will treasure the most – especially as his milestone birthday approaches.”

Prince Harry’s tumultuous ties with his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, have been the subject of much public speculation.

In his explosive memoir ‘Spare’, Harry laid bare his experiences within the Royal fold, taking aim at various Royal Family members. He notably accused his stepmother, Queen Camilla, of media manipulation against him, reports the Irish Star.

Yet, in a turn towards potential reconciliation, it is said that King Charles has become more receptive to mending fences following some spiritual introspection. “Since inheriting the crown, he has spent more time exploring theologies and the teaching of their central tenets including the nature of forgiveness,” an insider disclosed.

Speaking with the Daily Mail, the insider noted Charles’s increased engagement with religious leaders and his search for “spiritual nourishment” which may be guiding him towards a rapprochement with Harry. The Duke of Sussex has been residing in California with Meghan Markle and their offspring, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, for the last four years.

The source elaborated: “Faith has always been a part of Charles’s life and something he’s explored, but since becoming King it is playing a more central role…that reliance on faith and quiet contemplation has become a comfort and asset to him and helps him cope with the role as he adapts to being King.”
