The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are claimed to have bought a holiday home in Portugal, according to a bombshell report.
Prince Harry and Meghan have set their sights on a European country, reportedly buying up a property in Portugal.
The holiday-home, as it has been called, has been revealed by the Daily Mail.
While the potential move keeps the Sussexes with their foot in the door in Europe, they are not the only members of the royal family to own a property in the popular country.
Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank have their own home in the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club in Melides, which they frequently visit with their two children. It is not known whether this inspired Harry and Meghan’s decision to buy the property.
The news comes after it was confirmed last year that the couple enjoyed a ‘romantic three-night break’ in Portugal after attending the Invictus Games in Germany.
They are said to have flown from Dusseldorf to Lisbon before travelling an hour south to Melides in a “mega-secret” operation.
Their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, did not accompany them. A source close to the Sussexes confirmed at the time that they had been to Portugal.
It is believed they could have stayed with Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank, who have visited them at their home in Montecito, California, years before.
Harry and Meghan first moved into their Californian mansion in 2020 after quitting life as senior royals, and have since gone on to share snippets of their new life in their Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, released in 2022.
The couple are believed to spend most of their time doing the school run, walking their dog and taking trips down to the local beach. Neighbours have previously said they rarely see the couple.
