El ex motorista catalán formará parte del filial del equipo estadounidense a sus 35 años

la vida de Aleix Espargaró ha estado siempre ligada al ciclismo. De hecho, el motorista recientemente retirado nunca ha escondido que este deporte sea una de sus mayores pasiones, algo que incluso le ha llevado a aceptar el reto de correr de manera profesional, formando parte de la estructura del Lidl-Trek.
Esto hará que el catalán sea el primer deportista que formará parte del circuito UCI habiendo sido corredor de MotoGP durante los últimos 20 años. Y es que puede parecer una sorpresa, pero el fichaje de Espargaró por el Trek se ha producido después de que él mismo afirmase en el mes de abril que ya estuvo cerca de firmar por Movistar allá por 2021.

Una vez fructifique la llegada de Aleix al equipo estadounidense, cuyo rumor fue avanzado hace dos días por la web especializada en ciclismo ‘Le Puncheur’ y confirmada este jueves por ‘Relevo’, el ‘rookie’ de 35 años no podrá formar parte de la plantilla del primer equipo ante la falta de huecos, por lo que iniciará su andadura en el mundo ciclista con el filial.
Además, según puede confirmar MARCA, el hecho de que el plantel de la estructura principal esté ya completo no impediría que pudiéramos ver al mayor de los hermanos Espargaró en alguna ocasión esporádica disputando alguna etapa del circuito World Tour. De momento, y tras una longeva y exitosa carrera en el mundo del motor, Aleix tendrá ahora la oportunidad de lograr sus dotes ciclistas a las órdenes de uno de los equipos más potentes del pelotón.
