Pete Wicks joked he “hates life at the minute” after deciding to move into a new bachelor pad.

Former The Only Way is Essex star Pete has reportedly snapped up a £2,400-a-month flat in East London. The 36-year-old’s new accommodation is said to boast an onsite gym, rooftop bar, and space for dogs Peggy and Eric to roam.

According to The Mirror , Pete is said to have kept his house in Harlow. But made the decision to move to London to help further his career.

Pete has been offering glimpses into the move on his social media pages. He recently shared a picture of himself surrounded by boxes in a lift, as well as another snap of the London skyline at night.

The former Strictly star however says he “hates life” as he adjusts to the move. He shared an insight into the switch on his Staying Relevant podcast.

Pete said: ““I hate life at the minute. I hate life more than normal, is it not just the worst thing in the f****** world?”

He added: “I’ve been in for three weeks and I’ve currently got an interior designer who is f****** great. She’s just sent a man off to Holland for plants – I’m not joking.

“She initially got a budget. We’re at double at the minute and that’s pre-plants. I don’t understand why B&Q wasn’t an option for the plants.”

Pete has previously revealed he spent Valentine’s Day “moving house” after his reported romance with former Love Islander Maura Higgins ended. The pair are said to have begun dating last year, but decided they were “better off friends” in February.

An insider told MailOnline: “He still has his home in Essex so essentially, he has the best of both worlds. Moving is stressful for anyone but Pete relocated on Valentine’s Day as his breakup from Maura was revealed… it was definitely an intense weekend.”

Pete has recently launched a radio show with Olivia Attwood on Kiss Radio. A move to London is said to suit his commute for the show, reports the Mail.

Speaking on a previous episode of Staying Relevant, Pete told best friend Sam Thompson it was “nicer” not having to “drive three hours” between London and Essex every day. Although Pete admitted the move was going “so slowly”.

Back in February, he explained: “It’s been a week, because I’m in London so much, I’m, yeah, in the process of moving across. It should’ve been done really quickly, but I’ve been quite busy and I haven’t had the time, and actually forgot how much moving house takes.

“So what has happened over the past week is, I’ve been slowly moving on my own in a two-seater car.”

Quizzed by Sam what it was like leaving Essex behind, he replied: “I’ve gone from Essex to the hood I think, because I’m now in East London.

“I’ve lived around there before, it’s just nicer not to do the three-hour car journeys every day, put it that way.”
