Dearest, gentle reader! It’s no secret that the summer of 2024 belonged to Bridgerton Season 3. As of now, it sits at No. 6 on Netflix’s Most Popular TV (English) list, with over 105 million views and people spending over 845 million hours watching the season.

Of course, Season 3 followed Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) as he finally realized his feelings for Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). And with it came so many memorable moments like the carriage scene, the mirror scene, the reveal of Lady Whistledown to the Ton, and more.

But now it’s time to look ahead to Season 4 and which Bridgerton sibling we’ll be following next. In July, Netflix officially revealed that Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) will be the star next season.

Honestly, thank god. My boy deserves to find his happily ever after.
It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, considering Benedict’s book is the third in Julia Quinn’s beloved series, and the show actually skipped over his story to do Colin and Penelope’s first.

Benedict’s love story is based on Julia’s book, An Offer from a Gentleman, and it’s literally the Bridgerton version of Cinderella.

An Offer from a Gentleman follows Sophie Beckett, who dreams of finding her “Prince Charming” when she sneaks into the Bridgertons’ famed masquerade ball. Ultimately, she ends up spending the night with Benedict.

However, when the clock strikes midnight, her fairy tale ends when she’s forced back to her house with her disdainful stepmother. Ever since this magical night, Benedict is determined to find the mystery woman he danced with.

The official Netflix logline about the season reads, “Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
And while Variety broke the casting news for Sophie back in August, today Netflix unveiled the exciting news with a short teaser, which includes Yerin Ha, who will star as Sophie.

The teaser features Yerin looking at a rack filled with clothing, including suits and silver gloves, to tie into her Lady Silver persona, no doubt. It also goes hand-in-hand with Luke T.’s teaser, where he gets handed a suit for a masquerade ball.

She’s also an accomplished actor in Australia, having appeared in countless Australian TV series.
In an interview with Netflix’s TUDUM, Yerin spoke about her casting, saying, “What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles — something that she constantly has to overcome. Whether it’s this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict.”

Meanwhile, Luke T. and Yerin revealed they’ve already started dance rehearsals as well, with Luke saying, “In fact, we had a dance rehearsal today. I’ve only stepped on Yerin’s toes once, which is good.”

Yerin added, “The dancing is like an extension of their emotions, and a way for them to connect.”
Yerin also revealed Sophie’s last name will be changed to a Korean surname to honor her culture. She told TUDUM, “A name is the first bit of identity that you share with the world, and that’s why changing a name can be so powerful. To make Sophie’s name fit someone who looks like me is really empowering. All credit to Jess Brownell, our showrunner.”

Yerin and Jess landed on Sophie Baek to keep Sophie’s surname starting with a “B.”
The teaser and first interview with Yerin come as production for Bridgerton is reportedly scheduled to start in the fall. Showrunner Jess Brownell says it could be a two-year wait until Season 4 hits Netflix.
