– Snoop Dogg has been doing his part to help his beloved Los Angeles as the city continues to battle deadly wildfires.
The California city has been ravaged by multiple blazes over the last week, with at least 24 people killed and thousands of homes destroyed.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday (January 13), Snoop discussed the ongoing tragedy as well as his own personal efforts to help those in need.
He began by saying: “California, this is like our first time dealing with [such a large-scale natural disaster], and the way that California is coming together and the way that the world is helping us — that’s the important thing. People aren’t looking at differences; they’re just looking at trying to make a difference.”
Tha Doggfather went on to praise firefighters on the frontline: “They don’t never get no credit, and they always show up and they do what’s best. And when the job is over with, it’s like they’re forgotten about. But we need to give them a lot of praise right now. I give them a lot.”
As for his own contributions to the cause, Snoop said: “I got a lot of people that’s out there on the ground that’s making things happen. I’m pushing buttons, making things happen, and making sure that the right people are getting the things they need.
“Because a lot of time when we put these donations together, certain people don’t get it. So we need to make sure that everybody who needs this gets this. So what my team does, is we go on the ground and we make sure that we make a direct connection with those people and aren’t missing anybody.”
He also revealed that he received a call from a bank that “wants to help out” and “contribute money to people that lost their homes.”
Later during the interview, Snoop Dogg teased the possibility of performing at a benefit concert to raise money for those affected by the fires.
“There were talks about concerts to raise money for the victims and the people that have lost in this situation,” he said.
“So I think that’s more of the angle that I would be leaning towards — to do a concert and not, you know, be paid and take my proceeds from the tickets and make sure that the people got something.”
Snoop isn’t the only rapper who is chipping in. Since the wildfires erupted last week, fellow California native The Game has been aiding firefighters in the city as they attempt to contain and extinguish the enormous blazes.

Beyoncé & The Weeknd Postpone Major Plans Amid L.A. Wildfires
Various social media posts from earlier this week showed the Compton MC personally delivering food, water, hot drinks, blankets and pillows to firefighters, as well as posing for photos with the crews.
“Me & my team have been down here with the brave men & women fire fighters on the grown day in & day out assisting anyway I can to make their days a little easier,” he wrote on Instagram post. “The hearts & level of humility in each & every soul down here is a beautiful thing to witness & be a part of.”
He added: “My heart goes out to each & every person directly affected & those watching from all over the world who are mentally in pieces over what has happened in my city. I am here for Los Angeles & I will always be here to do my part.”
