Radio host Jackie O threatens lawsuit against former employer ARN over wrongful termination and misleading the market

Radio star Jackie O is reportedly considering legal action against her former employer ARN over “wrongful termination”, following her spectacular on-air blow-up with co-host Kyle Sandilands.

Radio host Jackie Henderson is reportedly threatening legal action against her former employer ARN for wrongful termination and misleading the public, after she took time off work following her on-air beef with co-host Kyle Sandilands.

Henderson, or Jackie O, had her $100m contract terminated by the radio network after informing her bosses she could no longer work with Sandilands after he suggested her new found interest in astrology distracted her from the job last month.

Sandilands was suspended by the network for serious misconduct and was given 14 days to remedy the situation or face termination himself.

The long-serving duo had a combined contract worth $200m over 10 years.

The Australian Financial Review reports Henderson claimed her contract with ARN was wrongfully terminated and she was not offered another show as indicated in a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange.

The outlet reports Henderson is considering legal action for wrongful termination.

Last week, Henderson released a statement that said she did not quit or resign from the show.

“I am deeply saddened by the events of the past week and the possibility of the show ending. This has come as a shock to me, as it has to everyone else,” she said.

“It has been truly heartbreaking to see how this has unfolded. At this stage, I am unable to say anything further, as I am addressing this through the appropriate legal channels.”
