Days after the conclusion of Kevin Durant’s trade saga, the Houston Rockets star sparked a major debate.
With Kevin Durant’s stint at the Phoenix Suns over, fans are looking forward to what the Slim Reaper can do with the Houston Rockets next season.
Most believe that KD will be an elite scorer as usual for the Rockets. But let’s put that aside for a second and focus on Durant’s yet another controversy on social media.

Kevin Durant says not even Michael Jordan and LeBron James can guard him
At 36 years old, Durant is already a two-time NBA champion, two-time NBA Finals MVP, and one-time NBA MVP, along with a plethora of other accolades.
Despite that, Durant often gets disrespected in all-time NBA debates due to his stint with the Golden State Warriors.
While KD left the Dubs in 2019, even in 2025, fans used it to poke fun at the Rockets star. A fan did just that by labeling him an ‘impostor’ on X.
“Kevin Durant, the impostor,” the fan wrote in response to a hypothetical debate.
The debate in question was which NBA player among Durant, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, and Shaquille O’Neal would not make the cut for the starting five.
After being called an impostor, Durant was fuming on X, stating: “None of them can guard me. How ’bout that???”
KD is known for his bold responses to fans, and this is as bold as it can get, but did the Rockets star intend to disrespect the above-mentioned legends? Well, Durant’s next statement revealed that.
Kevin Durant agrees that all six NBA legends are ‘unguardable’
At first glance, it may seem like Kevin Durant disrespected the likes of MJ, Kobe, and James with his response to the fan.
However, when another fan pointed out, “every person in that graphic is unguardable to be fair.”
Durant didn’t shy away from agreeing to the statement.
“Very true, would definitely need the national guard to help guard those brothers, but lemme talk my s___ real quick fam.”
In simple terms, Durant’s initial clap back had more to do with the fan disrespecting him than the Rockets star trying to portray himself as better than the other five NBA legends featured in the graphic.
