David Beckham may not officially celebrate his 50th birthday until May 2, but the soccer legend kicked off the celebration early. With his wife Victoria Beckham throwing a lavish party in Miami, Beckham welcomed a host of star-studded guests to help him mark the milestone in advance.
Among the famous faces in attendance was none other than NFL icon Tom Brady, who brought some humor to the event – along with a playful nudge at the age-old “football vs. soccer” debate.
Brady, who recently retired from the NFL after an unmatched career that includes seven Super Bowl titles, gave fans a glimpse into the celebration by posting a sharp tuxedo-clad photo of himself posing with Beckham. But in classic Brady fashion, he added a cheeky caption to stir the pot:
“Happy 50th @davidbeckham. I’m glad we finally agreed it’s called soccer not football,” Brady wrote via Instagram Stories.
A night of laughter, legends and luxury in Miami
Held in the vibrant city of Miami, where Beckham co-owns Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami, the early birthday bash was filled with A-list athletes and entertainers.
Besides Brady, attendees included basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal and soccer stars Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suarez – all of whom currently play for Inter Miami.
In another Instagram Story, Brady shared a moment captured alongside both Beckham and O’Neal. This time, he joked: “The backup goalies for @intermiamicf (Okay the backups to the backup).”
