It was announced last week that former One Direction singer Liam Payne passed away after falling from his third story hotel balcony

Lamar Odom says Liam Payne could have been hearing voices from the drugs he had taken.

The former basketball player has recalled his own experiences with drugs after it has been reported that the One Direction star had taken “pink cocaine”. The toxicology report which comes after Liam’s death last week showed that he had the drug in his system which contains a mix of Class A drugs.

Lamar has said that the drugs may have made Liam hallucinate which may have led to his death. Liam passed away at the age of 31 when he fell from his third floor balcony in his Argentina hotel room.

Lamar said that when he used drugs himself he would hear voices. He told TMZ: “Drug can cause you to hallucinate and if he was in a hallucination state then who knows what happened.” Lamar is a recovering addict who owns Odom Recovery Group.

Materials extracted from the Liam’s body in an autopsy following his death on Wednesday had “determined the presence of the class-A drug”, according to respected news portal Infobae. ABC News claimed that among those substances was “pink cocaine”, which contains a lethal mixture of drugs including MDMA, ketamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack.

The drug is locally referred to as “tusi” or “tuci” and is believed to have originated in Colombia before becoming popular on the club scene. Due to its highly variable and often unregulated chemical composition, users can be faced with significant and potentially deadly side effects, including euphoria, increased alertness and enhanced sensory perception.

According to UK Addiction Treatment Centres, these can quickly give way to negative experiences such as anxiety, paranoia, panic, and hallucinations. Police in Argentina have since carried out tests on a white powder found in Liam’s hotel room, but this has so far proved “inconclusive”.

Liam’s friend claimed he had been targeted by dealers who allegedly delivered drugs to his hotel room after he had been clean for weeks. Liam’s friend told Mail Online that Liam had previously been in rehab in both the UK and California. They claimed he had recently been taken on by a new psychiatrist in Florida and those around him had hoped he was on the road to recovery.

“He went to Argentina to renew his USA visa where he had to undergo medical examination because of his history with alcohol and drugs,” the source said. “The results of the tests were good. Liam was 100 per cent sober. But when he checked in at the hotel, at some point someone there started giving him drugs.”

They then added that Liam had been trying hard to stay clean but claimed “they preyed on him,” saying those involved only cared about money and not his health.
