Meghan Markle Gives Rare Glimpse of Life at Home in Montecito, Including Princess Lilibet Chasing Chickens!

The Duchess of Sussex also got some support from Prince Harry as she arranged flowers outdoors

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, shared new videos on her personal Instagram page on Monday, March 16, including a clip of her 4-year-old daughter with a pair of chickens.

In a post on her Instagram Stories, Meghan shows two chickens and giggles before Lili appears in the frame, reaching down to pet one of the animals. Princess Lilibet sports rainboots and a purple coat for the chicken coop visit, and her red hair (a trait inherited from her dad, Prince Harry!) falls over her shoulder as she leans down.

The video was likely taken at home in Montecito, California. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a chicken coop at their house nicknamed Archie’s Chick Inn, nodding to the name of their son, Prince Archie, 6. Prince Harry, 41, and Meghan bought their home in Montecito in 2020 after stepping back from their royal roles in the U.K., and their daughter was born in California in 2021.

The world first got a glimpse of Archie’s Chick Inn during the couple’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. There, Oprah noticed the sign reading “Archie’s Chick Inn — established 2021” for the coop housing hens rescued from a factory farm.

“I just love rescuing,” Meghan said about the flock.

On the same day, Meghan shared a video of herself arranging flowers in what appeared to be their backyard in California. Prince Harry is heard off-screen complimenting his wife’s work.

“It’s beautiful,” he says, to which Meghan giggles and says, “Thanks.”

Harry then adds, “So pretty in pink.”

After sharing a close-up look at the bouquet, another clip appeared to show her getting some purple flowers from a tree.

“I learned a lot of this when I was pregnant with my son, Archie. My girlfriends threw a baby shower for me, and one of the things we did was learn flower arranging. I started to find this really calming and meditative, so when I have a little bit of time at the end of the day, I do this. I have a glass of wine and just enjoy it,” Meghan said in the show, adding that she always turns on music.
