The funeral of Liam Payne, who died after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina, is expected to be held next month, as fans are warned off attending.

The funeral of One Direction star, Liam Payne is set to take place next month. In the aftermath of his tragic death, vigils and memorials have been organised worldwide.

The 31-year-old singer, who fathered son Bear with Girls Aloud’s Cheryl Cole, sustained fatal injuries after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room. At the time of the incident, Payne, originally from Wolverhampton, was in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office are not seeking any other individuals about his death. They speculate that he may have fallen from the balcony while in a state of “semi or total unconsciousness”.

His parents, Karen and Geoff, travelled to Argentina to formally identify their son’s body and arrange for his return to the UK. However, One Direction fans have been told “not to attend the service”.

On social media, many users have shared their opinion that fans should respect the singer’s family and not attend Liam’s funeral.

An account titled Remembering Liam Payne shared: “We are genuinely begging everyone to NOT go to Liam’s funeral, please. The memorials are for the fans, his funeral will be for his family and his friends.

Another commented: “Please let them say their last goodbye in peace. Do NOT show up to Liam’s funeral. Please please PLEASE give the Payne family some peace and let those who loved him and knew him personally mourn him in private. Do NOT turn it into a meet and greet or the chance to meet the boys. Please. #RIPLiam.”

The body of the ‘Strip That Down’ hitmaker is anticipated to stay in Argentina for up to 15 days as investigators await toxicology test results. Reports suggest that Payne had multiple drugs – including crack cocaine and methamphetamine – in his system at the time of his death.

Prosecutors also suspect that the late singer might have experienced a substance abuse-induced breakdown around the time of his fall. Witnesses reported that he exhibited aggressive behaviour in the hotel’s reception just moments before his demise.

The initial autopsy findings have disclosed that the cause of death was “multiple traumas” leading to “internal and external bleeding”, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which also stated that the injuries from the fall were unsurvivable.

A statement issued confirmed: “The head injuries were sufficient to cause death, while the internal and external haemorrhages in the skull, chest, abdomen and limbs contributed to the mechanism of death.”

The comprehensive autopsy report is expected to be made public shortly.

As the probe into Payne’s untimely demise proceeds, authorities are treating the case as “inconclusive”.

It is understood that officials have questioned two women who were reportedly with the artist on his last day.

In addition, they are interrogating hotel personnel and endeavouring to track the source of the narcotics involved. With no suspicion of third-party involvement in Payne’s death, the investigation could reach its conclusion within days.

Nevertheless, Payne’s relatives might face the ordeal of an inquest in the UK. Should this occur, his body would be released to them for repatriation to England.

This could potentially lead to a funeral service being arranged for early November. The British Embassy is currently assisting the bereaved family as they navigate through these trying times.
